The Gazans were told over and over that they cannot return to north Gaza. Next time they should listen.
Yet... you don't mention that Hamas has continued firing rockets into Israel after the ceasefire.
It's another expulsion like in 1948.
Actually, they were told to leave the south because it would be bombed next. Going back north is the only logical next step as Israel plays musical chairs with their demolition campaign.
Hamas is clearly holding all the cards and have been since the jump. They embarrasses Israeli intelligence with a surprise attack. They caught the IDF flat-footed and overran multiple positions. They have dictated and determined the political narrative. They have exposed the division on how people worldwide feel about the Jewish/Palestinian conflict. Now they pull all the strings in the hostage negotiating and any rules of engagement during said negotiations. And they have ended the earthly suffering of their brothers and sisters who have been killed, knowing with the absolute certainty that only a zealot can feel, their people are now wrapped in the loving arms of Allah. All this while killing a shitload of their mortal enemies. How this ends is anyone's guess but there is no doubt to date they're winning on every single front. And the fact that I must ad the disclaimer of this observation does not mean I support terrorism only further demonstrates the magnitude of their controlling the narrative.
Actually 1948 wasn't an expulsion.. The population of Islo-Arabs in or near Israeli territory were enticed by Islo-Arab armies to leave the war zone temporarily, to physically come over to their side, so they could fire a little more indiscriminately at Israeli targets during the conflict. They were promised their land back after the Islamo-Arab alliance defeated Israel. The Islamo-Arab religio-racists took the advice and the offer of the evil alliance and moved. Of those who moved, who knows how many actually participated with the neo-Nazi horde.
So the reason you could not answer my question about Islamo-Arab ("Palestinian") neutrality is because they were not neutral. They chose a side. They aided the evil alliance.
They had another choice. Stay, and fight with Israel. As such, upon victory, they would have become either citizens or subjects within an Israeli government, and kept their homes, if they actually owned anything, and weren't just squatters. If so, they would have wisely chosen between being a subject of Israeli government or being a citizen of Sharia under the Islamo-supremacists Fighting with Israel, they stood the best chance of keeping their belongings and obtaining citizenship in the new state.
They chose unwisely when you consider the quality of life of that 20% of Israeli population that considers itself Islamo-Arab, or Christio-Arab. War time is always a good opportunity to increase your status within a state. The refugees didn't need to be refugees. They could have sent their women and children to the Mediterranean coast, and the men could have helped the Israelis in the war effort against World War Jihad. Instead they joined the Jihad.
But religio-racist-supremacists are gonna keep the embers of their personal hatreds glowing hot for decades and the silent majority in the world is starting to get tired of your whining. Alas, the ghost of Yasser Arafats KGB trained leftist alliance rhetoric seems to be programmed into Chat-AI for leftists like @ipatent to cut and paste from. The Islamo-supremacist alliance gambled with the lives of Islamo-Arab supremacists in or near Israeli declared territory, (the "Palestinians") and they all lost. Time to make peace with the results of their gambling.

Once again let's take a look at your source -- Scott Ritter is the guy with all the arrests and convictions for sex crimes with minors. Anything written by Scott Ritter is not worth reading. He basically has no expertise whatsoever in areas he claims to be an expert in -- and has been proven wrong over and over again. Supposedly he was an weapons inspection advisor, he was never an expert on Israel. Scott Ritter's failures as a weapons inspector and problems with sticking with the facts have been outlined many times. It's amazing how some people think being a "weapons inspector" suddenly makes Scott Ritter an expert on Israel and Hamas?
