I see as many tweets from scammers and Trump spammers. Plus buying followers doesn't automatically mean they'll come to your defense in your twitter feed. it's just a popularity number.

Trump doesn't have to do the buying. Could be Russians doing the buying through the NRA for all we know.
 
Russian bots, NPCs, or whoever they are, the followers' number is being suppressed. Twitter is left wing owned, they will not like it if Trump has many followers.
