JGB is not available and the only German Bond that was offering margin was the 2030 which is ~10% IMR. However, a number of additional German Gov Bonds have just being added overnight. The symbol is "DE" and margin will dependent on duration (further maturity, the higher the margin). Please use TWS margin check to get specific figures. Thanks

DEF can you elaborate on ASX listed Bonds as a collateral? are they available on IB and secondly if yes then can they be used for collateral for futures trading or other trading

Hi def, thanks, but my question was about bonds that can be used in lieu of cash for futures margin, not just marginable bonds. Two different concepts. If you can please elaborate if this 2030 bond can be used in lieu of futures margin, similar to treasuries. Thanks!

I called support and they said IB KR AUs does not support trading of ASX listed BONDS BOTH GOVT OR CORPORATE!

SO if they are not exchange listed how do we purchase them? and once purchased with Cash , can they be used to get margin loan so we can use that cash for other trading within same account? Being Govt bonds I am assuming the Margin maintenance requirements will be very low? you support is not very clear about any of this and it is difficult to know ! could you please clarify more

These seems to be Futures not Bonds as in the selection tool in that link the Futures choice is chosen!

My bad, I was thinking futures and now recall we looked into this a couple of years back where there some issues with the reference data that was a blocker. I see if those are resolved now and hopefully have an idea in a few days of we can offer them.

@def, is there a chance to explore adding Canadian dollar denominated cash bonds/bills to your product offering? I find this lack a serious deficiency in the product offering, given the number of much more obscure products and markets covered. With Canadian yields ticking up it becomes very difficult to justify leaving this much cash in the account just collecting dust. I use the cash at the moment just to satisfy margin for lower latency trading.
