By November, he will cancel the entire 10 % on 300 B cause trade talks are " going good ". Career ender today... All we need is bad news out of HK to erase wtv gains comes from this that's the irony, inversion is almost as bad as it was before T caving... By next yr all tariffs are removed and Huawei is doing business in the US, guaranteeeeed

I bet he cancels every bit of tariffs ...why risk bringing economies into a recession, why risk his reelection and why risk continued tensions with China, that's why China doesn't want to agree with anything the US is putting out there. They know trump will back out as the elections get closer.

It IS the Christmas season for the import supply chain for the stuff to hit the shelf by November. So if the tariff goes on 9/1 then when they hit the American shore the importers will pay the tariff and price goes higher in the stores. The exporters sales were already done in US dollars.

Trump is mostly correct that China is paying for the tariff in the sense that once the tariff is on, China usually responds with cheaper rmb and subsidies to the exporters. So the new export sales will be in much lower FOB price leaving the Chinese port in US dollars to compensate for the importers tariff payment so the prices to US consumers won’t see that much increase.

Only reason why they won't see an increase is because trump is going to fall back on all trade talks and will probably take them completely off the table as elections get closer and closer. If he really wanted the tariffs he wouldn't have backed out today, everything has completely turned around since that news came out. He knows how extreme the risks are to global economies as these trade talks threaten global growth across the world. Again China is winning this game of trade talks.

He would either need a miracle or total lunatic to be nominated by Dems to win in 2020. I do not see either scenario on horizon.

Granted his victory was a total shock last time around, but not repeatable.

Can FB and Cambridge analytics be repeatable? If so all they need is to profile and target the weakest links and they can vote a monkey into the White House. Lol.

Have you even bothered to watch the first two Democratic Presidential debates? A debauche.
I cannot think of a worse policy platform that would alienate the middle class and union employees. You know, the voters who decide general elections in swing States.

That statement alone makes a mockery of Trump’s long-held assertion that China is paying for the tariffs, not the U.S. consumers.

If the U.S. public really wasn’t paying for the tariffs then logically there would have been no need to delay them, since doing so would only provide relief to China’s economy.
