H-1B visa programme hurts America: Ron Hira

Quote from RewriteQuran:

China is developing since you can exploit their people by abusing human rights.

China is also developing because it's using trade and currency surplus to massively subsidize internal food and fuel costs to keep the (massively huge) lower income parts of the country from rising in revolt.

US companies need H1 visa program to get the qualified workers they can't get in US. A company needs to prove that it was unable to find a similarly qualified US worker for the job.

Even though many immigrants take jobs from US citizens there are other immigrants who have created a large number of jobs in US (directly and/or indirectly):

a few useful immigrants you may have heard about:
Albert Einstein
Andrew Grove
Sergey Brin

How are human resources different than any other commodity?

The US provides farm subsidies in order to compete in the world market.

We protect certain labor sectors by requiring licensing ie. lawyers, engineers, accountants.

How is a US laborer pushing pallets for $22 an hour superior to a Chinese laborer doing the same job for $1 equivalent per day?

How is a data entry / claims processor worth $40K + benefits in the US when an Indian worker using the same software and system costs only $8K? How do you justify paying a 500% premium to do the exact same job?

Factor in the increased overhead to employ in the US.. $22/sq ft rent, FICA, Benefits, Legal etc. versus the efficiency to work real time over seas (technology) and expedient freight logistics (Air Shipments).

The world has gotten much smaller and US workers must adapt and be competitive on a global level to survive.
