Guy outsourced his own job to China...

They should lay off everyone and outsource it all to China.

Quote from Daal:

So the issue has nothing to do with the outsourcing of his own labor

Clearly the company is not paying this moron to outsource work to a foreign company. Those decisions aren't in his job code. There are security issues at play. Not to mention, why would they pay him $100k and be ok with him then turning around and paying a chinaman $20k to do the work? Why would Verizon not just fire him and hire the 20$ chinaman?

chinaman?.....you're either pretty ignorant or bigoted...but most likely both

He basically did what the outsourcing industry does every day. If something went wrong, it was his ass so it's not like he didn't have any risk.

I really don't see how it's offensive to call a man from China a chinaman.

Enterprising individual.

You buy something pricey, expect good after sales service and then find out it has been outsourced to some cheap call centre service.

Wonder where he got the idea from.........

There is a similar type of idea in the "4 Hour Workweek" book, except in that book he suggests working from home to better cover up the enterprise.

The guy in China probably then outsourced the work to a guy in India for $5K. Then the guy in India probably outsourced the work to an unemployed American programmer for $1K. The American programmer thought $1K is a lot better than zero!
