GUNS!

I can’t get enough of the Mk18 Mod I right now. By far my favorite small frame rifle. Most of mine are clone correct but my fav is the civilian model that ships from Daniel Defense. I will take a pic tomorrow. Waiting on my ELCAN Specter DRs and my BE Meyers MAWL.

Of all the guns I've shot, never shot an assault rifle. Not much use for animals. :)

We had one 50 cal but rarely shot it. Too painful to the shoulder. :p

Correction: .458 ....... Too many years ago. Not very useful unless hunting elephant, hippo, rhino.

Funny anecdote...

On one of the "custom gun shop" shows, some muy macho ex-Marine/Seal guy wanted the "most bad ass rifle possible". The shop built him a custom ".50 cal. Magnum". First time he shot it, the stock broke and it dislocated his shoulder.

I don't recall why the stock didn't break when the shop test-fired it, but I remember them all taking cover and firing it with a long string... just in case the breech blew.

I've got a 70's Model 70 in 375 H&H Mag big game rifle. My dad traded something for it. Got some kick to it. I shot it through a fairly large pine tree once.

(Internet pic, not my gun)

Also got a WWII German Karabiner early gas-operated semi-auto. I think it is 7.92, but it will shoot 8mm. Kind of a neat old gun.

(Again not my pic)

I may take the prize for oldest gun... I have a 1863 Springfield converted to "trapdoor" breech loader cartridge. It started life as a .58 cal muzzle loader, then the gov converted them to 50-70 cartridge. This is not my pic, mine is a little rusty. Need to clean it up. I've always been afraid to fire it. And finding 50-70s may be a little difficult. :D
