Guiding false belief of the extreme left.

No? Mostly those born on first base would like to see everyone born on first base, but do those born on third base want to see everyone born on first base?

Hopefully I sound like a commie now.

even if that were true... if first base is safe... so what?

right now in america there was an article from a newspaper in the midwest where the reporter figured out that with section 8 and food stamps and other assistance a family of 4 without a working had more spending money than a family earning 60 thousand. to me the the pendulum has swung too far left.

I earn more than that... but frankly not working and having 60 hours a week more to spend with my kids is a very seductive offer.

besides if first base is safe, why can't some people be on first and some be on third.

If that's true (and true for most of them) then they are replacing the middle class we've been losing. I don't like it, but as I've mentioned no one here is actually starving to or freezing to death, thus our economy is, despite this "overhang", still providing for all. To fix it I think we need to make work, ala the WPA of old.

Quote from Ricter:

You've got it backwards. Justice and/or fairness "equal" equality of opportunity.

The left does not want equality of opportunity. It wants equality of outcomes, which requires ever more totalitarian measures. After all, how does the left "prove" that fairness has not been achieved? By pointing to disparate outcomes.

Of course I can't speak for all leftists (neither can you), but... false.

Why are you trying to avoid answering the question?

Quote from Ricter:

Your original post was written as if "justice/fairness" were the higher principles, and that the pursuit of equality could in some circumstances compromise those principles, right?

Quote from 1prometheus:

All very true. But note that who and what they target for "equalization" is not random. The left seeks domination so they naturally target those who threaten their power or those who are capable of functioning autonomously. There are PLENTY of fields that are vastly unequal in terms of outcome, yet they are completely ignored (by the left).

The one unifying theme I notice with today's left is that they target European derived peoples, specifically white Christians, at all levels of society. Leftist Ideology is to attack and destroy the solidarity (what little is left) of the peoples who founded and created western civilization (including the united states), and to displace them as rapidly as possible from positions of influence. The heart of "evil" that they target is the white Christian male.

1Pro, good points.
They also have some problems with black conservative Christians[like Clarence Thomas];
they also have problems with white women conservative Christians[like Sarah ] See any patterns ??LOL

And if you ever see a white conservative Christian whose national news [CBN}had a conservative white woman & conservative black man, like Dr Pat Robertson. Now that is a a battle royal.:D

I think that is pretty much true with the lone exception the leaders of the left.

Yes, I did in which I asked you a question that you have so far tried to evade. I don't know why, you dislike the answer? You're ashamed of it? You feel it will be used against you? I don't know. It's a simple question; are you resentful towards people who have inherited wealth? I'm trying to actually understand your views and perspective.

There are no questions in your first post, only statements. To clarify your position then, before we "discuss", do you think fairness/justice are higher principles than equality?

Even though I asked you the question first, since I'm the one with good form and hence the noblesse oblige, I'll go ahead and answer first, even though social ethics wouldn't dictate that to be the case.

Yes, I believe I can comfortably say I hold fairness and justice above equality.
