I thought of you when I searched that meme.I thought that perhaps the fact that it occurred offsite may diminish the monetary award, but holy shit, he f*cked that poor kid up, and then threatened to have him (and family) killed. I have half a mind to look up the Russian when I am in SF next week. Roid rage and all.

Stuff like this should not happen anymore. Especially at big companies. We're in the me-too era and HR departments are paranoid. If the intern went to HR a long time ago and had some evidence (e-mail or recorded conversation), he would have at least been removed from the group and placed somewhere else. By the time things got physical, he should have filed a police report for assault. He'll get some award out of this. I assume that the guy who did the assault is no longer at the company or has at least been placed on leave.
HE DID. He went to HR and they ignored his request to move to another group.
