Not sure why this is being brought up now anyway. It's a month old, and several sites have pointed out the poor wording. Even Pew acknowledges it.
But righties do tend to latch onto the headlines and jump to conclusions (like the "unarmed" cop in Paris) rather than do any digging into the facts of the matter (e.g., the "Maupin Experiment").
The critics are attempting to influence by misleading. Notice they claim that laws are only designed to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. But if you watch the memeorandum blog aggregator, the left wing blogs go into a frenzy every time there's an accidental shooting by a legal gun owner. It couldn't be any more clear that they want to eliminate guns from far more than criminals. Accidents at gun ranges or kids finding a gun at home or anything else to persuade the public that guns are vewy, vewy, bad. Or their insistance that kids at school drawing guns be sent home.
When they say they only want more laws to limit criminals getting guns, how much more clear could it be that they're lying.

You misunderstand the reason the frenzy in guns and ammo is in place. The media, and dopes like yourself believe it is because folks think guns will be outlawed. If that is so, why would you buy something you think would be banned, knowing you'll have to turn it in?
People go crazy buying guns and ammo because they know that prices will go up as more and more guns and ammo are bought. It's a store of value, like anything else. And it's worked well (rifle I bought for $3000 less than 24 months ago goes for $4000 now).

The cop in Paris was unarmed. A number of sources reported it. You just refuse to believe it. Can't fix stupid, I'm afraid.
The main stream media, for the most part, doesn't go looking for that fact because to them, a policeman is always armed. They're not too up on the types of gendarmes in France. The media outlets that actually did their homework and went looking for it (and who found it a topic of interest) apparently got to the bottom of it.

I have watched the press in Canada this week. All the media stated the cop that was executed was unarmed.
