"first" you fix what you can starting with your home base. there are plenty of solutions but congress has no balls. the US is the next europe. there are 50 bankrupt greece and irelands called the states ny, california etc. topped by a bankrupt central gov't in washington d.c.

cut taxes by 25%. fire 25% of all government workers. cut government salaries and pension by 25% and cut entitlements by 25%.
What 100s of Billions, you must be out of your mind. Southern farmers were paid insentives NOT TO farm. This is crazy. At the same time, Germany established politicians in Greece who lived long and worked in Germany, married to German ladies who then signed huge inflated contracts with Siemens and stole the monies of the people. Are you aware of these facts? When are you going to stop lying that anyone stole 100s of billions from the northen european countries who you present as angles when those countries have been milking the south with implanted corruption with the objective of driving it broke and buying it cheap?
When the laws of EU force you to quite what you have been doing as a farmer for generations and they tell you take little money to stop farming you are going to inflate because in the future you will not be able to make a living. That technique was used by Germans and EU to corrupt people.
Brother Tango, here's what is important in the USA:
1. Smartphones.
2. Tablet computers.
3. Keeping our politicians in office and wealthy.
In the USA most of the heads are stuck way too far up too many asses.
It would simply take more "jaws-of-life" machines than there are on earth to pull them all out.
The real question is: When will the worldwide depression begin?
US has had three months of falling retail sales. It needs the consumers to start spending to come out of recession. First the high end people, then the middle class have to feel confident about the future. That is not happening. Quite possibly, as goes the US so goes Euro/Chindia. Ergo: it's already begun.

I believe they will probably keep replenishing balances with "monetary stimulus" until the world realizes that the problems are much more serious.

Bernanke will also have his Ah-ha moment. His plea is clear though.. Fiscal has to get its house in order.
