Greatest Daytrader(s) in the world

Quote from RedDuke:

Even though day trading takes a lot of time, it is easier to make real money with it (my opinion only). I am talking about 100% a year plus. What day trading allows you to do is go though a cycle of trades much faster than position trading, this allows you to react to market changing conditions much faster. If course if you re a gambler with no discipline, it is one of the easiest way to be toast.

Paul Rotter is great, no questions about it!!!

Do you daytrade?

If so, do you keep positions overnight?

I only day trade, when I leave PC I am flat. My positions vary from few min to about 10 min. Occasionally I might hold one for few hours if it is deep into black, and then I manually trail stops.

Quote from mhashe:

These days , trading US futures is like trying to pick pennies infront of a speeding bulldozer. One false move and you're screwed. Thinking of getting back into equities. Btw, I notice ETFs tend to trend better than many other markets, probably because of the dumb herd mentality at work.

if you're trading QQQQ, might as well trade NQ. They're essentially the same. So what's the advantage of trading QQQQ over NQ besides the fact you can trade smaller chunks of QQQQ and you can't trade less than 1 contract of the NQ.

I was, in March of 2000, or so I thought. Had turned 7K into nearly 200K in less than 8 months. By the end of 2000 I had 40K left in my account. Still not bad but I took a heck of a spanking. As it turned out I was just lucky during that period. Now it's a f'n job. Damn, I miss those wild west days.

Monroe Trout... returned 45% for 15 years and retired at 39 after selling his company for 700 M. Regarded as top US money manager. Floor trader, manager of trading company and hedge fund.

Sorry to say, but that's an example of poor money management.

You shouldn't give so much back to the market.

What I usually do is if I lose more than a specific percentage, I will force myself to stop trading.

There must be something wrong in your trading, so you need to stop and find out the problems first before the problems become too large to slaughter you.

Money you gained from the market ARE your money. You should treat your profits as seriously as your initial capital.

Hope this helps a bit. :)

You are such a positive person. Real constructive advice here. Do you even know what the hell happened in 2000? You fucking idiot. GAWD! Quit the charade. Stop acting like you even have one damn clue that you know what you're talking about. You don't. You fucking TOOL.

You're such a dupe. One minute you're on ET phishing for ideas of how to trade someone else's winning strategy (such information is readily available in other threads on ET, you're just too damn lazy to learn), the next minute you're giving someone utterly useless advice for something that happened SIX YEARS AGO! And to boot, you're doing both on the same damn thread. Like you even have the first clue what the hell his situation was. Quit handing out advice like it's something you're qualified to give. You're not.

You know how many people I've blasted like this in the last 190+ posts? ONE. You. Get a damn clue.

CaptainObvious: keep your head up.

Sorry Mods. Trying to get a message across. If you feel this should be deleted, I can repost an edited version.

Good post, I agree WM Waster is very clueless and his posts are rather annoying. You can tell he doesnt trade or, if he does, he trades very very small.

I wouldn't say such hostile things to someone who didn't act belligerent towards me first... but you can bet your message is identical to what I was thinking.

:D
