Great Dance songs from the 80s-90s

Quote from vulture:
you said dance songs from the 80's. Most of the songs listed I would consider...new wave.

I'd agree. In the bars they were dancing to...

Dancing in the Dark - Springsteen

What I Like About You - The Romantics

Billie Jean The - Gloved One

Relax (Don't Do It) - Frankie Goes To Hollywood

Looked at some of the earlier posts and was surprised at some of the comments. I thought the 1980s was a very strong decade for music. A decade where music was strong while movies were weak.

Don't know what qualifies as dance music for some of you but some more songs to consider:

Funkytown - Lipps Inc.
I Like Chopin - Gazebo
Breakout - Swing Out Sister
Cherish - Kool and the Gang
Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds
Roseanna - Toto
Time of My Life (from Dirty Dancing) - Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes
Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House
Our House - Madness
Conga - Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine
There's Always Something There to Remind Me - Naked Eyes/Burt Bacharach
Heaven Give Me the Words - Propaganda
The Heat is On - Glenn Frey
