Grass Seed!

Holy smokes have you seen the price of grass seed?

Word on the street is that the grass seed market has somehow been cornered!

$90 for a 20lb bag?! WOW! That’s 4.50/lb!

is there a grass seed commodity index, or a way to purchase grass seed futures?

We need to start planting vegetable and rock gardens instead!

Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix, Grows in Extreme Conditions & Spreads for a Durable Lawn, 20 lbs. https://a.co/d/gtnz6QO

fruits, vegetables, beans ....
the cheapest price is around
$1 / lb.
ave price could be multiples of $1/lb

grass seed $4.50/lb seems reasonable.

The place I stay,
Alfalfa grass (for my pet rabbit) is more expensive than the
vegetables.

Farmers like to feed cows with corn, and soy.
If you see those big farms, you hardly see cows eating grass.
Grass must be expensive.

yes.

There are about 10000 types of grasses.

Some grasses (eg corn, soy) are heavily manipulated (GMO) so as to feed the massive 7 billion people, cows ....
%%
Millet is also, milo maybe.
I like that rice seed weed killer ad, that barnyard grass[weed] looks a lot like Japanese millet; a favorite of ducks, like smart weed.:caution::caution: A lot of farms + ranches use pasture[grass, clover, alfalfa] for cows, chickens+ sheep, goats, horses+ also use Co-Op feed corn-wheat-soybean-molasses blends etc...
[Delayed edit they mostly use 50 or 60 pound bags even though 20 + 40 are common, more$ per poundLOL]

Another trivia, bamboo is a cool grass! Some bamboo species are very, very, tall, and can grow insanely fast.
