Grains & Softs

Quote from JPope:

I could see someone arguing that everything is already priced into the Equities markets, but the grains are just not that efficient, in my opinion.

Can you elaborate? How are equities more efficiently priced than grains? Not being critical, merely curious.

As I stated above, I believe everything is reflected in the price. [/B]

I know lots of guys here will say crop reports are important - well you can actually trade and make money without reading them. This is delight of a chart if you read it correctly and take appropiate action.

My bet is after tomorrow's report the market will open lock-limit in direction of trend and rice market is geared to be the sensation of the month outperforming - wheat/corn/soybeans.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll look into it. On a side note, how much weight, in your opinion, do you give to fundamental analysis over price action?
go back and look for a thread from young trader, an iowa farmboy, gave you some insights into seasonal and weather fundamental knowledge needed for trading farm comodities

Quote from schizo:

Frankly, I dunno. But I suppose the main reason is lack of demand since it isn't as widely consumed as other products. For instance, corn is currently being used in ethanol production. Wheat, being the most favorite stable in the developed nations, is also used to feed livestock. However, soybeans, by far, is the major ingredient in livestock feed.

Oat volume is thin becase it reflects the relatively small underlying supply, approx 4 mil tonnes grown in NA. Corn is the major feed ingredient.

so, sell Corn, Soybeans or wheat at the open?

Damn, Incy, you already know that the report will be bearish? Some of us thought it wasn't a real comeback, they were wrong...BANG.
