Government witch hunt

Ladies ! Go start your own thread to have this debate. This was supposed to be a thread about the action against short sale advocates.

Naaaa. Give us an example.
The news media sensationalizing battery fires or software glitches?
Nothing wrong with that, and countless people claiming a company is overvalued by every traditional financial metric ever used putting their money where their mouth is, is hardly criminal. Besides, I think we can all agree TSLA's stock price is far from being a "victim" of some nefarious plot to bring it down to a reasonable valuation.
Seriously? For years TSLA was the most shorted stock on the board doesn't qualify as an example? That Tesla demonstrated year over year its ability to meet its projections and more, yet hounded by shorts isn't an example? You picking the wrong fight buddy! Shorts lost their shirts trying to demonize the company to profit from a falling stock price.

You have done no work in this area. Your vehemence shows you are likely part of the group who would like to eliminate short selling as being Un-American. Short selling research is known to be much more through than research done by Wall Street analysts.
Nope, hyenas are needed in the food chain to thin out the sick from the herd.

That's good. Shorts keep the markets honest though.

Well whatever. People are entitled to their opinions right? In the eye's of many TSLA is just a car company with a few ancillary dreams. Car companies have historically traded at PE's less than 10. And that's during a good year.
I'm not taking sides, you know I like TSLA, but as I said, there was hardly anything criminal going on. Now, if someone hacks their systems so that cars roll thru stop signs or whatever... and buy puts on the damn thing or short the stock... that's another thing.
But just bitching that a stock is overvalued af, while TSLA may be the poster child, it's certainly not the first.

As I said, there's a probable need for professional shorts, but a greater need to send the feds in to check their practices for malfeasance.
Nikola is still on every one's mind, and is the poster child for the Citrons of the world. But there are plenty of unacceptable manipulations from those seeking to profit from a falling stock price.

Found the theme song for your thread...

"Those who know what's best for us,
Must rise and save us from ourselves.

Quick to judge, quick to anger...
Slow to understand.
Where ignorance and prejudice and fear walk hand in hand."

Actually, that is good way to make monies on the short side. Think about it. Inverse ETFs are opposite of the Stockmarket indexes. I made monies on SQQQ calls and shares. Long out of it though.
