My question is simply how good are Government Bond Funds now that QE 3 has passed and the Government will purchase them over the next 2 to 4 years?
 
You're going to have to be much more specific in order to get a helpful answer.

What kind of duration (short, long, intermediate)?

What are you using them for (capital preservation, appreciation, hedging, etc)?

Are you worried about default risk, or simply whether it will be a profitable trade?
