gotta_trade's swing trades

Quote from swimmus:

Really enjoy watching your portolio grow, seeing those base hits you are getting. You are now starting to drive some runs in. Congrats, look forward to reading more.

Hi swimmus,

I am happy with the way my swingtrading is going...(so far).

Thanks for your post. I really do appreciate the positive words.

I'm happy that people are benefiting from this journal.

Like your thread - I will look back through all of the pages later this week. Are you long only, or both long and short?

Hello maggandre,

I play from the long and the short side. It doesn't matter to me.

But my trades are producing only longs at this time. There aren't any shorts that fit my criteria.

I wish I had some shorts, at least I would be somewhat hedged.

I had only 2 short positions since I started the journal. They were PSS and HEW. I made money in PSS and lost money in HEW. If you go threw my posts you'll see them.

I posted a chart when I closed the PSS position. I didn't post the HEW chart because I didn't know how to post a chart on EliteTrader at the beginning of this journal. I'll continue to post a chart of my swingtrades when I close out a position.

Welcome to the journal and if you have any other questions, just ask.

Good Trading,
gotta_trade

Quote from wwatson1:

Do you find that swing trading is looking more appealing than you daytrading grind?

Hello wwatson1,

Swingtrading is appealing to me. But daytrading is what I'm about.

If I can make consistent cash over time, swingtrading will become more and more appealing. But until then, I gotta stick with what I know.

Even if I can make some pretty good cash swingtrading, I'll still continue to daytrade. Even though it's a grind, I have to say, I enjoy it. But I enjoy it now because I'm relatively young and I have the energy. I don't know if I'll have the energy for daytrading when I'm older. Swingtrading could be a great alternative for me.

For now, I'm gonna give swingtrading my best effort and try to enjoy the process while it's happening.

Good trading to you,
gotta_trade

Thanks for your journal, it is very instructive for me.
