There are some really ludicrous statements by those politicians. It definitely appears that they're a bunch of morons. However, as I watch it closely I wonder - as the camera angle changes regularly between key points of the statements - if there aren't some serious edits in the programming that take a group of statements with significant context differences and put them together to make it sound like they're actually supporting giving a gun to a 4 year old.
I'm not saying there aren't idiots who would support that, but something smells really fishy on some of those lines and the way they cut back and forth.
Look at Larry Pratt @ 1:24. Seems like he is reading something out loud provided to him. You can tell as he goes over some of the science he's not familiar with where he pauses on some of the words. But the camera makes it appear as if it is his viewpoint. In reality, he was probably asked to read some pseudo science to see what he thought of it. You can actually see the screen he is reading off reflected in his glasses.
Cohen set the stage and had them dance, but it is highly unlikely they all support giving guns to kids.
