Warren crosses the line: Recycling Ted Kennedy's trash

Elizabeth Warren is carrying on Ted Kennedy’s tradition of telling race-baiting lies to smear Jeff Sessions.
Thirty-one years ago, when considering President Ronald Reagan’s nomination of Jeff Sessions to the federal bench, Kennedy orchestrated a smear campaign to paint Sessions as a racist. This included a letter from Martin Luther King’s widow, Coretta Scott King, accusing Sessions of attempting to suppress black votes. It was a pack of lies, but it convinced the Senate Judiciary Committee to ditch Sessions’ nomination.
Late Tuesday night, Warren picked Kennedy’s trash out of the garbage can and recycled the smears on the Senate floor. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called Warren to order for violating Senate rules, shutting down her shameful screed.
Democrats quickly tried to turn Warren into a martyr. While Warren lied about her ethnicity to get two Ivy League jobs, she isn’t stupid. She knew her improper conduct would make her a hero to the left, which regards all conservatives as inherently racist.
With no power to stop Sessions’ confirmation as U.S. attorney general, Democrats have decided to fail as conspicuously as possible, holding the Senate floor through the night to show gullible supporters that they are putting up a fight.
Blaming a politician for grandstanding is like blaming dogs for peeing on the rug. It’s our fault for not training them properly.
But Warren’s vile lies crossed the line. Her dishonest and hateful rhetoric has no place in the Senate.
