Old guy fighting cancer gets a serious respiratory virus and dies. Shocking.
I suppose some of you are saying this is karma or some other bullshit superstition. I say if you get a large enough group of people saying anything for, or against anything, some of those people will be subject to those things they talked about. No mystery. The guy is dead. RIP

Exactly. This thread and its assertions are ridiculous and what we've come to expect from panic porn central around here.
Weird virus, two distant relatives died from it and two close relatives tested positive and no ill effects only a cold. All in the high risk age group. The new virus strains can penetrate the mask and the vaccines will need booster shots to keep up. China has shit for brains, playing with death.
You would think that someone with cancer would be very careful to stay social distanced, demand others near him wear masks, and wear a mask with a wide-spread pandemic causing large number of deaths of those with high risk conditions. But I guess our elected representatives are not smart enough to follow basic protocols to preserve their own health -- actually in this case the representative did every possible to promote policies to undermine our pandemic response and serve as a bad example. Sadly his demise is easily predictable -- and probably belongs on the COVIDIOTS thread.
Although I did not read anything about it, he apparently did not take the vaccine when it was offered because all the house members were eligible. Note that AOC lined right up like a piggy at the trough to get hers and she is not necessarily in high risk unless having big tits is a risk factor. Yeh, being hispanic is supposed to be but not in her demographic I don't think.
If he did or had, there would have been no shame or hypocrisy in it if he chose to be vaccinated. Guess he did not though. So be it.

U.S. Rep. Ron Wright, R-Arlington, died of COVID-19 Sunday, according to his campaign. He was 67.
Wright represented the 6th Congressional District in Texas, which includes parts of the Dallas/Forth Worth area, as well as Waxahachie and Midlothian. He is the first sitting member of Congress to die after being hospitalized with COVID-19.
Wright was also undergoing treatment for lung cancer, and had been hospitalized in September due to complications surrounding his treatment. He announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19 in late January.
Although Wright had not yet received a COVID-19 vaccination, a representative told the Texas Tribune in January that he had planned to receive it in "the near future."
