I have done a preliminary run at my federal taxes — they have gone up. The GOP tax changes screwed me (as far as I can tell).

I don’t live in a state where the property tax deduction limits have an impact — but am still screwed.

You’re not alone. The average benefit to the average filer is something like $119 if I remember correctly. A great number of people are going to learn the hard way that being on the knife’s edge of the next highest tax bracket is going to seriously hurt with less brackets.

That's another problem. You have psychopath as a President you end up with an appointment like Kavenaugh. Most are OK with a Conservative Judge if they are well qualified. But you Get a Psychopathic liar like Trump in the White House and you end up with a liar like Kavenaugh, whose opinions he rendered for the Bush Cheney White House were Shit, on the Supreme Court for life. Kavenaugh has none of the single most important attribute of any Supreme Court Judge, INTEGRITY.

I believe it is quite appropriate that his records from the Cheney-Bush White House years are not released. This is covered under executive privilege.

I view the entire Kavanaugh nomination hearing process as one of the most obscene smears of an honorable man that was carried out in American history. The people who orchestrated the smear campaign should be ashamed of themselves. It is one thing to disagree with a nominee's position on judicial subjects based on his past case summaries; it is totally different to launch a fabricated abusive smear campaign against him.
