the media is hyping it up. Google has always tracked everything. Google serves me well, they are not a unit of government, and we are free to use them or not use them at our will.

I have a much bigger problem with TSA as a unit of government compelling American citizens to produce travel documents and be subjected to warrantless search as a condition of travel within our borders.

I also take issue with fusion centers that operate only as a disguise for government to mine all the data they can on honest American citizens.

Don't like Google's policy? Go use Yahoo!

I think Ebay and FaceBook are also involved. I did a Google search for "turntables" and during my visit to FaceBook and Ebay turntable ads were displayed for a few days.

I have no problem with that though.

Google is very vast. It has many things to explore. If paying in it, it is good.

I went here and it says that I have not turned on history, so I don't know if they are actually tracking me. If you turned it on, I think this is where you can erase it.
