GOOG today

This time my brain is talking :p

My brain is saying market is up a lot recently and we are ready for a correction and GOOG will come up with the numbers on the correction day. I don't expect big swing on GOOG this time and I don't expect it to hit $420 or like that. I see more like $368 although the best senario based on my account would be between $371 to $388. I am sure GOOG will come up with great numbers but go to Yahoo's site and check GOOG. You would see that revenue is increasing by 80% but profit is increasing by 50%. That shows the cost of operation is also increasing more than revenue.
Conclusion: I don't see big jump on GOOG and it won't tank either but maybe I will be wrong but hey thanks for asking for my opinion.
 
I sold my XLNX with a great profit today. Here are my picks now.

1- Short RMBS protected by PUT if it goes against you. They just came with their lousy numbers. They only thing keeping it up is the court decision that is extremely priced in even in the best senario
2- Short AAPL. I saw their numbers. It is good but.....
3- Buy INTC at 19.80. It has lots of rooms to go up
4- Short TXN
5- short GOOG by buying PUT or selling naked Call
6- Short AMZN. Tomorrow AMZN should disappoint.
 
I am short goog right now with no profit or loss. I did the trade from a technical standpoint but i didnt get out at the right time. I don't know what I should do now (whether I should wait for the earnings or not). Any Suggestions?
 
I might be biased but I believe GOOG will drop like 20 points after the earning but it is up to you to make your decision. If I were short the stock, I would also sell the right PUT in case it goes up, I would keep the put money if it goes up and in case it goes down, they will cancel out each other. Say I am short at 400, I would sell PUt 390.
 
Another great short opporunity is TXN. First it went up because of its earning and then today is up because of NOK. NOK good news was already priced in TXN good earnings. You can short now and cover in a week with at least one dollar profit. Now it is $35.75
 
If GOOG comes up with good results, investors were already expecting that, so they will take profit.
If it disappoints, it will get punished. In both cases I believe it will go down.
 
Yes I think $30 will be a moderate punishment unless they screw it big time. You should not expect that volatilty in GOOG that you used to see a year ago.
 
You're probably right in shorting TXN, but I'd still wait for some price confirmation before shorting it. You may lose a few cents but gain a few percents of probability ...
