Does anyone know the dollar value the index funds have to sell of the sp futures to offset the difference in market caps of BR coming out of spx and goog going in..could be considerable pressure on sp futures

Since when are index funds allowed to use futures?

the index funds basically end up selling the other 499 names through basis trades with the sell side desks who actually sell the futures and then cross the index with the index funds..

Now that the 'GOOG will be in the S&P rumor is no longer', it will have to deliver on earnings to sustain the high PE on the stock.

Well said. It will deliver but like MSFT or other good stocks. It would double its earning every quarter. No we see over reaction to the news.

Those of you who are following GOOG, extend old horizontal trendline from 10:50est on 3-7-06. Recent gap and support was right on that level. This method works on all indexes and it seems to work also for strange beast like GOOG .

Heavy volume, strong Naz, and 3/31 S&P 500 inclusion.
