I didn't read the article (as I don't go to Infowars or consider it a credible news source). But you're right, someone wouldn't be able to carry on in the act with or without a gun on them. Regardless, the gun protects the man interrupting the crime from getting attacked by an individual who has demonstrated his intent to violence and harming others. Therefore, I'll take the gun every time.

The interrupted rape happened, it was on the normal news sources but infowars.. yuck.. But similar happens all the time and no gun required.

We have mentally subnormal/compromised people, 70-90 IQ types & the elderly / overly fearful who we fail as a society by allowing Alex Jones & Co. to prey on them.

I prefer living in a society where people are only dangerous when the come within rock throwing range. The US is a paranoid society, for now the cancer seems contained there. I would however accept jogging after this:

There are there for govt. Either when it breaks down after after a disaster, natural or otherwise or to ensure it does not turn on its people. You know the exact reason the founding fathers envisioned.

Yep, 1961. It is a very interesting book. I read it in the 80s and was reminded of it recently.

I often think of this book when I consider the gun thing, a prime example of pseudo-event control of the people.

I wonder if the founding fathers saw that coming. People becoming so delusional they think they have a prayer as an individual. As a well organized militia, maybe but the federal army supplanted that.

No one is a greater advocate than I on supporting the 2nd amendment. However, the idea of someone with guns resisting the government is lunacy. They have much bigger guns. That may have been part of the original intent, but it's not very valid today.

With the noted exception that, in order to do such a thing, the government would rely heavily on military and police folk, the vast majority of which would not stand by if innocents were killed en masse.
