Good poker player = good trader?

Come on...
I think online play is fair - it's truly in the best interest of the online poker room to give you the best and most secure way to play. Should anything come about in regards to poker rooms scamming people, they would lose their million dollar a day profits in a heartbeat...I wouldn't trust a fly-by-night poker room, but the major rooms are all going to be overprotective of their players....trust me, I have proof...

Now - in regards to the players - sure, some will always try to find their way around the system - collusion, bots, etc. I've beaten a bot before - they aren't unbeatable...and I have caught people colluding too...they dont last long...
 
I just cannot believe that the mob has not gotten into online poker. Theres no way they would not get involved in something so easy.

That's kind of like the stripper telling the client that "He's special".

These guys are all crooks and It's only a matter of time before:

A: The US jumps aboard this band wagon with legal licenced online Casino's.


or

B: They start prosecuting and shuting down these places a lot more aggresively. (They've recently made a few arrests).


BTW, I've made several complaints about colusion and nothing ever happens.

Gamblers always ignore the obvious to feed thier need !!!
 
well, I've done very well playing online, and all the bad beat stories that you hear don't impress me...i've laid em out on people and they've laid em out on me...
bad beats happen - the idiots equate them to cheating online poker rooms...the realist equate them to a cost of playing poker..

Dude sorry but the nonsense about odds and probabilities is just an illusion because it does not take into account bet scale.

The only reason that I'm net positive live is because I can read people but that alone would not allow me to make a consistent living.

Bottonline is that the only way your ever going to make $$ from poker is from a big tourney windfall and then you have to keep it.

Daniel N is a good friend of a close friend and I get all the skinny straight from the horses mouth of a Champion.

Ive done pretty well too. I opened an account a couple of years ago and they gave me $15. Ive been playing on their money for two years now. I still believe they skim some of the top payoffs on the tournaments by having their people win. Not always and not always first place but its just too easy to pass up, imo.
 
Online sites can make more money in the long run by being legit. If any site was actually shown to be rigged, it would be the death of that site. These sites have many employees, and it wouldn't be too hard for a disgruntled programmer to spill the beans, or to accidentally leak the information somehow.

I made exactly one deposit of $300 deposit on Paradise poker, 2.5 years ago. I have made over $100,000 at online poker since then, playing at least six different sites. I never put another dime of money into play that was not won from that initial $300.
 
and more importantly,
these sites make millions a week...
MILLIONS...in net profits...

WHY would they rig the sites??
to make a few hundred thousand bucks more and compromise their integrity??

These guys ain't Phil Bennett...greedy fuckin pig.

A few hundred thousand hands of each. Also, dozens of other experienced to professional players with the same conclusion.

Intuitively, it also makes sense. Online play is _very_ fast. The weak players go broke much quicker. Online there's fewer draws of blinky lights or drink wenches or other ways to rationalize being a long-term losing player as "entertainment money."
