Good Options trading course

I agree on the McMillan but there's several other good books that will help you lay a solid foundation for your trading:

"Option Volatility and Pricing" - Natenberg
"Options, Futures and other Derivatives" - Hull

once you have grasped the basics you can move on to:

"How to Calculate Option Prices and their Greeks" - Ursone
"Option Trading" - Sinclair
"The hidden reality" - Cottle
"Trading Volatility" - Bennett

Also, reading this forum will allow you to explore new concepts/strategies at your own pace.

Dan Sheridan -- lots of free training on youtube. Also go to sheridanmentoring.com
He is the real deal. In his seminars, he is very practical, and actually puts on live trades and explains what he is doing.
 
Here's on that will cost but returns more in experience and gained knowledge

The stock market.

Seriously stop reading books and shit and go buy a call or put. That simple. Feel your heart sink then feel the rush like a rollercoaster next day and rinse and repeat. Actually. Wanna get double experience buy one call and one put and watch how the react.

You can read all you like. And I suggest reading to understand what you're experiencing. But one year in the market is worth ten years with your head in books.

I have literally found running three different setups to gain the most experience and understand your style and what you like and what works and doesn't.

For options information. I literally haven't read a book on one yet so can't help. In google ive found option stragety sites helpful to seeing the various strategies and they usually explain volatility and other stuff.

Just get your foot in the door and as I said. Don't risk a ton. Just two bets as that will be worth 100x the price of a book or what's in it.
 
Make sure your mentor actually does active trading. Otherwise it's all good in theory, but not very practical.

Dan Sheridan is good for beginners. I did his program myself. But was a market maker. He is not an active trader. Two completely different things.

There are two separate “threads” to learning about options. There is options mechanics - the pricing, what makes them behave the way they do, how to execute etc. Then there is “how to make money with options”. The two are interlinked if you planning to trade volatility, but you can be an options trader and make mostly directional bets.

It’s fairly easy to find someone to teach you the mechanics. In fact, you can learn it by reading books, playing with excel spreadsheets and by asking questions on the internet. It’s going to be very hard to find someone who can and is willing to teach you how to make money.
 
Be aware of any system or education making any outsize return. If they show any "verified" performance ask for audited return.
 
Here is a partial list of what I used to learn about options:
1. Google Search of Options and then read up on the basic mechanics... I have dealt with just covered calls a while back and so knew what options were and how they worked. I knew about the basic credit/debit spreads, and strangles/straddles. I needed to learn more about the exotics like butterflies and condors.

4. SteadyOptions membership.
