It's also probably been mentioned that the further you hit it the greater your chances of missing the fairway. If you aim down the center of the fairway and you're off line by 4 degrees, at 200 yards you are 14 yards off line. At 300 yards you are 21 yards off line and playing from the rough. Course designers tend to narrow the fairways after 200 or so yards to give the long hitters a little more challenge.

There's an item to remember when golfing.----Even though your swing should be repeatable, it is different off the tee versus off the deck. Off the deck, you'll want to hit down on the ball, whereas off the tee, you"ll want to shallow and sweep the ball. ---If you hit driver the way you hit irons you will be popping the ball up and/or losing massive distance.==Ish==

I am currently working on neck stretching/rotating in order to keep my eye on the ball as I swing while turning my torso and and shoulders more. I am getting better speed the more I turn the top half of my body relative to the lower half, but will be better off if I can keep my head in place.

The most important secret to hitting the ball well is keeping your head locked in position. To this end, having a caddie will shave a ton of strokes from your game. Everyone wants to instantly look up to see where the shot has gone. It is far better to follow through with your head still locked in position. Impossible to do without a caddie or a golf partner that you work as a team with watching each other's shots.
