I would very much agree in principal on providing a level playing field in campaign finance, and some kind of internet voting via social security #.
The airwaves used to be considered commons, and there were requirements to give equal time to each candidate and point of view as a condition of the license to use bandwidth. I believe that we should return to that.

One has no way to determine the actuals on an individual....unless they have all the facts in from of them....
This is now possible via the internet.....not the "boob" tube or the "airwaves"....
The US has a flawed political system....Whoever has the $ for enough advertising wins the game....
There is no way qualifications can be "fool proof" via advertising mode....

Prospective voters can see how votes went on all issues....where people worked.....what sort of qualifications do they really have...all the good ...the bad...etc....how they treat their family....
Where they get their money.....the list goes on....
Anyone who suggests that the election process should be solely determined by paying big advertising bills which do not offer adequate information is living in lala land....as are 99% of Americans...
The tools are clear and available....use them....

The only winners in an "advertising based democracy" are the advertising companies....
Practically none of the officials that are in office ....would be there had all voting and information been solely internet driven....wiki fact based format....."none of them"......
Maybe America "wants" to remain in "lala land " ?
