It's all a casino. Not meant as derogatory.
To you it probably is, but there is a real use case for this currency throughout the whole world. With our government making its own money worthless you can bet this will do nothing but gain more value over time. So just give it time, our government is sure to fail on its own currency.
And they will make crypto illegal, and it will not be useful in major economies. No country is going to give up its ability to mint money.
it's astonishing to see that so many people even here on elite trader use the blanket term "crypto" for everything going on in DeFi. The quants etc from major banks and tech firms are not leaving to go mine bitcoin. they are joining exciting DeFi projects that without exaggeration have the potential for a paradigm shift in, well everything.
They won't, otherwise they will lose the battle with other countries, that's why they regulate it. So they can make money off it

OK then they will make the useful cryptos illegal.
No because then they wouldn't be regulating it. Don't forget members of the government are also involved in crypto and don't want it banned either. So it will never be banned.
