Investment Banking Salaries:

Associate 2 - 4 years - $425K was high end for class of 04; $325K was low. Most people probably got in between.

That's what I was thinking. If somebody is running a desk/portfolio/fund or whatever that made $250m last year they'd be fools not to pay the guy running it accordingly. If he's good and doesn't get the most $$$ he can for his performance he'd bounce and apply elsewhere, work for the competition and GS would have one guy less making money for them.
