GS says their book value is $99/share. trying to figure out how close to reality this # is right now, as i explore going long GS in my investment account (ie: not trading, long term $).
the moves in GS, MS etc, coupled with the .23% 3 month t-bill rate felt a lot like capitulation. i just wish the major indicies were down the 10% they should have been down today given all that's going on coupled with the 2 money market funds breaking the buck.
anyway, i have never been all that good at evaluating the balance sheets of financial companies- much less now, being GS, level 3, CDS's, locust, whatever...
anyone smarter than me in this area have a firm (or even flaccid) opinion?...
