"Golden Arches" Project

walterjennings,

we seemingly think alike...:)

Quote from walterjennings:

might be worthwhile to note this method would work the same trading GLOBEX and NYMEX currency futures (or others). the min lot values are larger but at least they are regulated.

edit: oh i see you did :D

I took a small commitiment (1 mini) in the EUR/NOK Long, eventhough I do not have smaller timeframes or a stop methodolgy yet.

The infrequencies of Demarker Sig's in the direction of the arch are far apart and seemingly accurate on the daily timeframe..

I put a conservative 2* ATR for a target...lets see how this develops. When I put the trade on the spread was at 50 pips

Entry: EUR/NOK Long
Price Entered & Executed with real dollars: 8.1280 Long
# of units: 10,000 (one entry)
Target: 8.1379
Stop: not yet
Interest Differential: Negative

It is interesting to be Long the EUR & the USD with the Short NOK
Let the test begin...

P.S. EUR/USD is showimg a long, but mature arch, on the daily, in a range

Now that I've got some meaningful intraday data there is just one more problem. The data from IB is Eastern time. Anyone know how to switch MT4 globally to Eastern Time? This is a big issue and cannot be fixed simply by shifting the data. In some instances the data is off by +7 hrs and other areas are off by +5 hrs etc. If there is a way to change the rollover time from 00:00:00 to whatever, that should also help align my data....

I've noticed that there are gaps in MT4 intraday data thus making IB data look stretched in some places. Otherwise, it seems consistently off by 5hrs. If this is the case then a shift just might work, i.e. 2 wrongs make a right...

any thoughts?

IB is also missing intraday points. Actually a shift of 7 hrs is needed. Wil have to create a new file that renames all the time values to time = time + 7. This should align IB intraday data to MT4 EOD data, unless someone knows how to get MT4 to express in EST, ideally.
