gold/mining stocks always gap fill?

has anyone ever backtested that gold/mining sector stocks seem to always pullback if gap up at open? i show examples for GDX and ABX but unfortunately i never learned how to do backtesting on TradeStation :-(
looking for some help here (and also at the TS forum)

Gaps can be filled a lot of the time but not all of the time, as quickly as you'd like. Be careful whenever you feel "certain" of anything.
