Oh, but gold can easily reach US$5000, only by that time the US$ will be worth 0.10 EUR.

The value of gold in a real-world denomination (like the EUR) has not risen that much lately. Those Europeans paying their milk and cookies with EUR will not profit very much from being long in Gold.
 
gold has performed nice over any timeframe in almost all currencies including the Euro

( except perhaps on days like today )

Aaaaaarggh, I aggreeee. If you be after treasure, gold is what one be buying. Selling seems a fool's venture, if you be asking what I be thinking... Aaarrrrrrrgh....
