hey guys i dont know if this belong here but i got a question about buying gold and oil. lets say i want to buy gold in my interactive broker how do i search gold to find it?
its a very noob question i know but i need help with that!

You might consider ETFs, which trade like stocks but are a basket of many stocks.
For long position in Oil - take a look at the ever popular USO and triple leveraged UWT
For long position in Gold miners - check out GDX and triple leveraged NUGT

I'm having difficulty understanding your query because for example you can't buy gold from IB.
The Perth Mint sells gold.

However if you want ideas on gold stocks, why not just do some research via Google.

Then you could also use a stock screener, like this....
