LeBron James Tweets Brutal Response To Trump’s Steph Curry Tweet

The Cleveland Cavaliers forward had some strong words for the president.


King James has spoken.

After President Donald Trump tweeted Saturday morning he would be “withdrawing” Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry’s invitation to visit the White House to celebrate his team’s NBA title, LeBron James took to Twitter to give the president a piece of his mind.

“U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going!” James wrote. “So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!”

Curry recently made it clear that he would not be visiting the White House, even though his team, the Golden State Warriors, won the 2017 NBA championship.

“I don’t want to go. That’s the nucleus of my belief. If it was just me, it would be a pretty short conversation,” Curry told reporters during Golden State’s media day.

James has also said he would not have visited the White House if his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, had won.

Giants Owners John Mara and Steve Tisch Respond to Trump's Comments on NFL

A day after president Donald Trump called for NFL owners to fire players who protest during the national anthem, two NFL owners—John Mara and Steve Tisch of the New York Giants—have said they disagree with the president's sentiment.

"Comments like we heard last night from the president are inappropriate, offensive and divisive," Mara and Tisch said through a team spokesman. "We are proud of our players, the vast majority of whom use their NFL platform to make a positive difference in our society."


Mara and Tisch are the first NFL owners to respond to the president's comments, which he made at a campaign rally for senator Luther Strange in Alabama.

Miami’s Stephen Ross is the second NFL owner to issue a statement against President Trump’s call to fire NFL players who protest during the national anthem.

“Our country needs unifying leadership right now, not more divisiveness,” Ross said. “We need to seek to understand each other and have civil discourse instead of condemnation and sound bites. I know our players who kneeled for the anthem and these are smart young men of character who want to make our world a better place for everyone. They wanted to start a conversation and are making a difference in our community, including working with law enforcement to bring people together. We all can benefit from learning, listening and respecting each other. Sports is a common denominator in our world. We all have the responsibility to use this platform to promote understanding, respect and equality.”

Ross is the founder of the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality, which seeks to use sports to “bring people together to promote understanding, respect and equality.”

A year after he strongly backed Colin Kaepernick’s decision to kneel for the national anthem, 49ers CEO Jed York delivered a statement Saturday condemning the comments made by President Donald Trump at a rally in Huntsville, Ala., on Friday night.

Trump told his audience that players who didn’t stand for the anthem should be fired, and said he wishes an owner would say, “Get that son of a bitch off the field right now!” to those who protested.

Said York: “The callous and offensive comments made by the President are contradictory to what this great country stands for. Our players have exercised their rights as United States citizens in order to spark conversation and action to address social injustice. We will continue to support them in their peaceful pursuit of positive change in our country and around the world. The San Francisco 49ers will continue to work toward bringing communities, and those who serve them, closer together.”

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says the President of the United States demonstrated a “lack of respect” and “failure to understand” when Donald Trump attacked players who protest racial injustice and called for those “sons of bitches” to lose their jobs.

In typical Goodell fashion, the statement manages to both hit its target “hard” while dedicating the bulk of its substance to bolstering the character of the league he’s captained since 2006. The statement comes after Donald Trump went on an extended rant Friday night in Alabama where he called for players kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice to be “fired” and criticized the NFL’s attempts to reduce catastrophic brain injuries.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula released a statement Saturday night following President Trump’s comments on Friday suggesting that owners fire players who kneel during the national anthem.

The statement reads,

“Several of us met tonight- players, coaches, staff, and ownership. Our goal was to provide open dialogue and communication. We listened to one another. We believe it’s the best way to work through any issue we are facing- on and off the field.


President Trump’s remarks were divisive and disrespectful to the entire NFL community, but we tried to use them as an opportunity to further unify our team and our organization.


Our players have the freedom to express themselves in a respectful and thoughtful manner and we all agreed that our sole message is to provide and to promote an environment that is focused on love and equality.”

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Jim Irsay joined a growing group of NFL Owners reacting to President Donald Trump’s comments concerning players kneeling during the national anthem.

The Colts Owner and CEO released the following statement Saturday evening:

“I am troubled by the President’s recent comments about our league and our players. Sports in America have the unique ability to bring people from all walks of life and from different points of view together to work toward or root for a common goal, and the Indianapolis Colts are proud to be a part of that tradition in our home city and state.


The vast majority of players in the NFL — especially those who have worn and continue to wear the Horseshoe — have donated millions of dollars to charities, raised money for those affected by recent hurricanes, created charitable foundations, visited schools, mentored students, worked in homeless shelters, cleaned up parks, and put in hours of their personal time toward improving their communities and the lives of those around them.


That’s the spirit in which this nation was founded, and we all need to work tirelessly to bring people together to take on the challenges that face us and give back to the people of our communities. More so than any result on the field, that is a common goal worth rooting for.”

Irsay’s comments followed responses from owners, CEOs, and/or presidents from the Eagles, Bills, Packers, 49ers, Dolphins, and Giants.

At a rally in Alabama Friday, President Trump addressed the protests by saying to the crowd, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—- off the field right now, out. He’s fired! He’s fired!'”

SEATTLE – The Seattle Seahaws issued a statement Saturday night defending their players’ right to protest, one day after President Donald Trump said NFL owners should “fire” players who kneel during the national anthem to advocate for civil rights.

“We fully support our players’ use of their freedom of speech and peaceful action to highlight the existing racial and other divides in our country,” reads the statement signed by Seahawks president Peter McLoughlin. “Our players completely respect the military and veterans of our country; however, they believe these issues need to come to the forefront.”

SOMERSET, N.J. - The National Football League and its players' union on Saturday angrily denounced President Donald Trump for suggesting that owners fire players who kneel during the national anthem and that fans consider walking out in protest "when somebody disrespects our flag."

"Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players," the league commissioner, Roger Goodell, said in a statement.

DeMaurice Smith, executive director of the NFL Players Association, tweeted: "We will never back down. We no longer can afford to stick to sports."

Trump, during a political rally in Alabama on Friday night, also blamed a drop in NFL ratings on the nation's interest in "yours truly" as well as what he contended was a decline in violence in the game.

Smith said the union won't shy away from "protecting the constitutional rights of our players as citizens as well as their safety as men who compete in a game that exposes them to great risks."
