And let me follow this non-issue up with "Who gives a shit about birth certificates."
Back in the very old days, 1961 to be exact, a birth certificate was first printed by a printer (type setting), text were then added later to fill in the informations. Papers back then are very course and rough unlike today.
I used a carbon ribbon selectric II back in the day, and there wasn't any ink (since it was a carbon ribbon) and (yes) some typewriters could do proportional spaced fonts. And no, the paper wasn't "rough."
