Many of us are fatigued by arm waving, shouting ,alarming, warnings and subsequent power grabs. Global cooling followed by Global warming, economic disaster from inflation or deflation, God is going to kill us for our evil ways, we must wipe out poverty, kill the abortionists, etc. Write your Senator!! Donate money, NOW, IT'S URGENT!!!!! IF YOU DON'T THE COMMUNISTS WILL TAKE OVER!!! THEY WILL SCREW YOUR DAUGHTERS!!!

I would get a lot of satisfaction if a bounty could be put on every alarmist with no science and ones that are proven wrong, actually, once proven wrong they should be removed from the gene pool entirely, if they merely have no science they could be sterilized.

A website with their pictures and bounty amount and big x's on them when they were collected on would be fun to look at, it could be an anxiety reducer to more than offset the anxiety produced by these morons. When societies collapse things like that actually do happen. When Rome fell the attorneys and politicians were destroyed as a class of people. The rabble did not just rob the big estates, they robbed them and exterminated the inhabitants, they were pretty fed up with the bullshit I would say.

We had the big "gasoline is polluting groundwater when it leaks from gas station tanks" scare in California some years back. Immediately legislation was passed forcing gas stations to replace their tanks periodically. Independents were driven out of business. To this day the law is in effect and gas stations are periodically torn up and out of commission for weeks at a time. The cost is reflected in the price of gasoline so the poor are getting poorer because of the environmental scare. The thing is, there was no science, and when scientists did look into it they found no problem at all, well they thought there might be one case in the whole state and that could have easily been detected by simply testing the water. I don't know how much of this unproductive bullshit the economy can carry on it's back before it really has to throw in the towel. Every business cycle I think, "this might be the one that just doesn't cycle like it should", so far so good but you never know.

A causa delle interazioni tra nucleo esterno, che è fluido, e mantello terrestre, che circonda il nucleo esterno ed è solido, ciò potrebbe riflettersi in una diminuzione della velocità di rotazione della Terra. Se la Terra ruota più lentamente aumenta però la durata del giorno, sia pure di decimi di millisecondo, e questo processo è a sua volta in grado di causare un’accelerazione delle correnti atmosferiche che fluiscono prevalentemente lungo i paralleli, dette correnti zonali.
Poiché l’energia cinetica del sistema Terra–atmosfera nel suo complesso deve rimanere costante, se il Pianeta rallenta il suo moto di rotazione le masse d’aria devono quindi muoversi più velocemente. Correnti zonali più intense rendono però più difficili gli scambi di masse d’aria dalle basse verso le alte latitudini e viceversa, e quindi viene rallentata anche la propagazione del calore accumulato nella fascia tropicale verso i poli: il risultato è una diminuzione della temperatura media del Pianeta. Viceversa, nei periodi in cui la turbolenza solare tende a diminuire, la velocità di rotazione aumenta, la durata del giorno diminuisce, le correnti zonali si fanno più deboli e, grazie a una più efficace distribuzione del calore, le temperature medie del Pianeta crescono.
Ma allora, se negli ultimi anni la turbolenza solare è aumentata, perché la Terra non si raffredda? In realtà tra aumento o diminuzione della turbolenza solare e conseguenti variazioni della durata del giorno c’è uno sfasamento di qualche anno e lo stesso avviene nel passaggio che porta all’aumento o diminuzione delle temperature. Considerando tali ritardi, un graduale aumento della turbolenza del vento solare diviene responsabile di una diminuzione della temperatura dell’aria a livello planetario dell’ordine di circa 0,2 °C ma con un ritardo di 25–30 anni, seguita poi nei 25–30 successivi da una diminuzione delle temperature pressoché eguale.
Queste variazioni però si sommano al costante riscaldamento del nostro Pianeta imposto sia dall’effetto serra di origine umana, sia dall’aumento di calore emesso dal Sole: ci sono quindi periodi in cui la turbolenza del vento solare contribuisce ad accelerare il riscaldamento del Pianeta, e altri in cui invece tende a frenarlo. In particolare, poiché la diminuzione della turbolenza solare dei decenni passati ha fatto sì che negli ultimi anni la durata del giorno sia andata diminuendo, con un conseguente indebolimento dell’intensità media delle correnti zonali, nel prossimo futuro ci attendono probabilmente altre annate di caldo record.

UN 2007 ROVENTE ANCHE IN ITALIA
Agli inizi di gennaio l’ufficio meteorologico inglese ha lanciato l’allarme: il 2007 sarà l’anno più caldo di sempre! Secondo i ricercatori inglesi c’è il 60 per cento di probabilità che le temperature medie del nostro Pianeta quest’anno risultino eguali o superiori a quelle delle annate record del 2005 e 1998. In effetti due fenomeni, su tutti, potrebbero spingere il 2007 verso picchi di caldo mai toccati prima: il riscaldamento globale ed El Niño. Il primo fenomeno, causato sia dalla maggior attività del Sole (negli ultimi 1000 anni mai così «caldo» come ai giorni nostri) sia dalle emissioni di CO2, ha subito un’accelerazione proprio nell’ultimo trentennio: il ritmo di riscaldamento della Terra durante il XX secolo è stato di circa 0,06 °C per decade ma negli ultimi 25–30 anni è bruscamente balzato a circa 0,18 °C per decade. Una tendenza testimoniata dal fatto che dal 1880 a oggi le cinque annate più calde di sempre sono tutte concentrate nell’ultimo decennio.
Il surriscaldamento si è fatto sentire soprattutto alle medio–alte latitudini, Italia compresa: dall’analisi del Centro Epson Meteo in base ai dati registrati in 62 località italiane risulta difatti che le temperature medie di questi primi anni del nuovo millennio sono più di un grado superiori a quelle tipiche della prima metà degli anni ’80. Insomma, la tendenza al forte surriscaldamento dell’ultimo decennio lascia pensare che il 2007 sarà comunque un anno molto caldo, mentre la spinta necessaria a battere il record potrebbe arrivare dal Niño, ovvero dall’anomalo riscaldamento di gran parte dell’Oceano Pacifico Tropicale. Già da qualche mese è in atto un moderato episodio di Niño che, secondo il centro di previsioni climatiche dell’ente americano per l’atmosfera e oceani (NOAA), dovrebbe raggiungere l’apice proprio in questo febbraio, per poi cominciare lentamente a indebolirsi.
Tuttavia, tutti i maggiori centri di ricerca americani ed europei concordano nel prevedere che almeno fino a maggio le temperature superficiali del maggiore dei nostri oceani rimarranno più calde del normale: in tal modo però trasmetteranno calore anche agli strati atmosferici di una regione molto vasta che, dalla Nuova Guinea alle coste dell’Ecuador, si estende per più di 10.000 chilometri!
In Italia invece El Niño farà sentire i suoi effetti soprattutto durante la prossima estate: i profondi sconvolgimenti della circolazione generale dell’atmosfera che lo accompagnano difatti durante la stagione estiva solitamente spingono con maggior frequenza e insistenza (come già accaduto nelle estati caldissime del 1994, 1998 e, soprattutto, 2003) sulla nostra Penisola il rovente anticiclone africano che, oltre alla calura, porta anche forte siccità. Inoltre quest’anno ad aiutare l’avanzata dell’alta pressione africana contribuirà anche la periodica inversione della direzione dei venti stratosferici tropicali: i venti quest’estate soffieranno difatti da Est verso Ovest, indebolendo le correnti occidentali che, negli strati più bassi dell’atmosfera, spingono le perturbazioni atlantiche verso l’Europa e contrastano la risalita dell’anticiclone africano verso l’Europa.

This kind of bullshit will never go away unless people truly hurt. Real pain is better teacher than anything. After that majority would hopefully realize they've been had.

You do not know much about how a Nuclear Fission power plant works do you?

Look it up. Besides the obvious meltdown risk, which is a lot more realistic than the safety engineers try to claim, there is also waste. And it's probably the most dangerous type of waste.

P.S. Try looking up who is pushing Nuclear Energy nowdays. There are a few private companies that have been lobbying hard.
