Bravo. Someone clearly showing all the warning signs was identified, called out and arrested. If only the police and FBI had done the same at Parkland.

Come to find out; the police/sheriff in that county were ordered not to record crime much, to make things look better than reality. And the dad whose daughter was shot ,said the shooter was frisked daily+ book noted an amazing amount of stupidity on the part of school leadership/voters/Chicago crook program.

I had some time this morning with a cup of tea and spent it re-reading this thread in its entirety for entertainment value. I just wanted to thank all the folks from the left who continually let me and my fellow 2A supporters beat the ever-loving shit out of them on this particular thread.
I was asked multiple times why I waste my time debating this thread since no lefty will ever change their mind and my continued response was that anyone on the fence would be able to see clear, cogent arguments from my side and random emotional snark from the left. That this thread could be a pillar of logic to smarter, safer gun regulations without confiscation would be all that I hoped.
And, of course, it was friggen funny as hell to stomp on folks like Futurecurrents. So a big, heartfelt thank you to my friends on the left who felt the need to come to this thread and push their narrative.

We have approximately 327,000,000 people in the US. Perhaps there are 5000 gun deaths. Are we going to change all kinds of this for .00001529 of the population.

There are some smart changes to laws, some enforcement of existing laws, that would benefit the American people. But banning guns isn't a solution, its a narrative. Criminals don't give up guns they have just because you say it is illegal to own them. All you do is make citizens who do not commit crimes suddenly criminals in doing it (which is the point of the narrative).
If the left actually cared about reducing "gun violence," they would be laser-focused on stopping inner city gang violence. That's where the majority of the killings occur and, unlike lone wolf type attacks, we know how to address it. There are plenty of things that could be done that would be far less burdensome on law-abiding people's rights than their gun confiscation and ban plans.
