A look-up of my IP for posts over the last year would make it appear I am from Toronto, Washington D.C., London, Carmel IN, Chicago, Durham NC plus a host of airports to/from.

I think this what RRY was insinuating (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/anonymox/) ... there's plenty of free add-ons now for Firefox or Chrome that enable your IP to be from anywhere you chose. Plus VPN's.
If you travel a lot, you should really use a VPN fwiw. Keep your stuff secure.

The bottom line is the location of the IP in today's world with spoofing, etc. is next to meaningless for proving the location the person is at. On top of spoofing and all the readily available methods/add-ons to do this -- many times if you sign in at a hotel or other location they route their traffic through another location of the public internet, which also providing misleading IP location information.

That's why Magna might be able to provide some clarity. If the guy has nothing but IPs from South America, well then. If he's posting from New York mostly, well then.

Again, I ask if you guys think this person has been using spoofing software to post on this site to indicate he was from Brazil, on the remote chance someone would call bullshit to him being from Brazil on the few occasions the subject finally came up, so he could say "gotcha" or something.
