You should be honest. Anyone can cherrypick. If any President of the United States speaks at ANY convention not only will the Secret Service insist that it be a gun free zone, they’re going to make everybody go through a metal detector.
If you could somehow find a legitimate source that your statement is true for all NRA conventions then you bring an excellent point.

Even the most gun-friendly States have convention centers and auditoriums that prohibit firearms. Federal and State buildings prohibit firearms. Very common in all states.
Your point is disengenuous. It would be very difficult to find a large public convention center anywhere in the US that did not prohibit firearms outside of vendor display purposes.
