TDS is a symptom of having voted for the guy. And apart from the palliative, I don't think there is any help for someone like you. Why am I commenting on him? Because he is a clear and present danger to democracy and global stability. However, TDSers such as yourself, are oblivious. All he has to do is jangle a set of shiny keys in front of you and you're distracted.

That isn't what I said at all. You may have heard that because you want to hear that.

What I said was "Possibly". Defending a home with a shotgun or bolt action rifle against someone with a handgun breaking in is a difficult job. It is possible to do it, just like it is possible to use a flat head screwdriver where a phillips head would work better. A shot gun is far more effective than a bolt action rifle, though.

If you could promise your ban would remove the criminals' handguns, I'd have no problem. But you can't, so I do.

You are fixated on the criminals. The nutjobs doing the mass murders are not criminals until they kill the kids.

And if you don't think that you can defend your home with five shotguns there is something wrong with you or you are very, very paranoid. Which is the case with most "gun enthusiasts", like my customer today who felt he needed to wear a Glock in his belt while in his home in a gated community and after talking with him is obviously a dumb paranoid gun nut who is not very rational. Thinks the neighbors are out to get him.

Of course I'm fixated on the criminals. The odds my family is going to be involved in a school shooting or a movie theatre mass shooting like you are in a tizzy over is massively lower than the odds they will be subject to an armed criminal's violence. That is what I am trying to prevent. Those other six sigma events are not on my radar.

I didn't say you can't defend your home with a shotgun - a shotgun is actually a very good home defense weapon. But against an AR15 or handgun it can be lacking.

As for why your customer wore his glock when you were visiting, I suspect you give off the same vibe in person that you do online.

Meh, I'm keeping my guns, ammo and magazines. People like those 30 round mags but I prefer 10 round mags because you can get on your belly and shoot from the prone position. I have a huge ammo bag with lots and lots of 10s.

Firearms are encoded in the constitution of this country. You could easily find a country more in line with your worldview. I know a couple of people who have emmigrated to Australia this year.
