You're both right. It's a dangerous situation, but cops are supposed to be trained to respond appropriately and not just start blasting. These smaller PDs do not always get the best officers either. The you had the tragedy in Minneapolis where their Somali affirmative action policeman gunned down an unarmed white woman in a bathrobe in an alley who had called the police.
My point is you may see yourself as the good guy with the gun but to the cops you are a potential threat. There are some cops who are just itching to use their weapon and they know someone with a gun gives them that excuse.
