Imagine a politician using his son as a bagman. The son knowingly entraps himself to bring home the bacon. What kind of father would sacrifice his own son, to maintain deniability for himself. Selfish bastard gets rich while his son is at risk.

It's hard to know what actually gets investigated in the FBI versus just overlooked. This is true under both dem and pub administrations.

However, regardless of what the FBI has and has not done, it is crystal clear from the existing record that the State Department and the diplomatic corp identified and recognized Hunter Biden as a bad actor long ago - a loose cannon rolling around on the deck of the ship. And notably, I am saying even during the Obama administration. Hunter and Joe's meddling made their job infinitely harder long before the republicans started picking on him. They saw what was going on.

You will recall that George Kent the diplomat in the Ukraine testified during the impeachment scam that he had repeatedly warned his superiors in DC that Hunter was up to no good.

Further, the Ambassador, Marie Yuvanovitch, testified that the Obama administration had in fact prepared her for her confirmation hearings and the preparation included giving her talking points about how to handle predictable problematic questions about Hunter messing around there.

Aside from all the hyped up political mileage that goes with campaigns, it is ABSOLUTELY TRUE that that Joe/Hunter arrangement was/is a national security risk. Holy Shiite, you have some desperate druggy who can be had by any country anywhere that has a sixpack a few million dollars working as a go between between the country or it power elite and the Vice President/President- and the VP is taking a cut off the top of every deal and is possibly about to be elected President. Jeeeeeezuzzz H. on steroids. This is what we learn/get after impeaching a president for a conversation with the Ukraine?

But there is the point that technically and constitutionally it is the electoral college electors who elect the president and they are free to go rogue if orchestrated to do so and vote for someone else subject to what their states will let them do. yaddy di- yaddy dah.

The election is going to happen, so that is a given. And Joe will be on the ballot even if he dies today.

And a lot of this discussion about Joe and his crime family is not - as far as I can see- a problem for any of the democrats. So I don't know how much maneuvering they are working on. There is a sort of sub silentio thought process going on among conservatives that says that if Joe is demonstrated beyond doubt to be and to have been a crook that that will obviously be a big problem for them. I am not convinced of that yet. They have pretty low standards and can pretty easily convince their voters that there is nothing to see. It's all a big right wing conspiracy.

It would hurt the dems pretty badly if the number of undecideds was larger but lots of people will have already voted before long. No doubt it will have a negative impact somewhere in some swing states so there is that. There are people who are voting for Biden because there is no way that there conscience will let or has been letting them vote for Trump even though they like some of what he does. Well, Hunter and Joe just gave some of them a reason to vote for Trump and be able to live with it.

The FBI had the laptop quite awhile ago, Dems knew it. Dems knew it would come out eventually. THAT was the rush for early voting, not Covid.

People line up everyday at the DMV so they can spare me the tears.
