Giuliani out?

Rudy Giuliani raises eyebrows after calling himself 'Former Attorney General of the United States' on Facebook page
By Joseph A. Wulfsohn | Fox News

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani had critics scratching their heads on Tuesday after publicizing his Facebook page, where he referred to himself as a "Former Attorney General of the United States."
Giuliani, who has made headlines in recent months over his involvement with the Ukraine scandal as President Trump's personal attorney, plugged his Facebook page on Tuesday and teased users about findings from his "investigation."
"Connect with me on my Facebook Page. More to come on my investigation, soon!" Giuliani tweeted with a link to the page, which was created in October.

In addition to the erroneous listing, Giuliani is also described as a "government official" despite his current role as the president's personal lawyer.

Giuliani's LinkedIn page correctly states that he was a U.S. Associate Attorney General between February 1981 and June 1983 under former President Ronald Reagan. He then spent five-and-a-half years as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, leaving that position on New Year's Day, 1989.

Giuliani made headlines earlier this month when he traveled to Ukraine in the hope of gathering evidence against former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden over their ties to natural gas company Burisma Holdings.

In a recent interview, Giuliani admitted to playing a key role in the ousting of ex-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, insisting she was "corrupt."

Live updates: Trump tells reporters he doesn’t know if Giuliani is still his attorney

5:15 p.m.: Trump, when asked if Giuliani is still his attorney, says, ‘I don’t know’

Trump told reporters Friday that he didn’t know whether Giuliani was still his personal attorney, adding that the two hadn’t spoken since Thursday.

“Well, I don’t know,” Trump said, responding to a question about the lawyer as he prepared to leave the White House for a rally in Louisiana. “I haven’t spoken to Rudy. I spoke to him yesterday briefly. He’s a very good attorney, and he has been my attorney.”

Trump then added, “Yeah, sure,” before moving on to another question.

In a text message to The Washington Post’s Josh Dawsey shortly after the president’s comments, Giuliani confirmed that he’s still representing Trump.

“Yes,” Giuliani wrote. “I am still his attorney.”

Donald Trump distances himself from Rudy Giuliani: 'He has been my attorney'

In a podcast interview with Geraldo Rivera that aired on Thursday, Trump was asked, “Was it strange to send Rudy Giuliani to Ukraine, your personal lawyer? Are you sorry you did that?” Rather than stick with his previous denials of ever having dispatched Giuliani to Ukraine to investigate the Bidens in the first place, Trump happily copped to it all, responding: “No, not at all...I deal with the Comeys of the world or I deal with Rudy,” the former of whom, per the president, left “a very bad taste” in his mouth due to the whole Russia investigation. “So when you tell me, why did I use Rudy, and one of the things about Rudy, number one, he was the best prosecutor, you know, one of the best prosecutors, and the best mayor,” Trump said. “But also, other presidents had them. FDR had a lawyer who was practically, you know, was totally involved with government. Eisenhower had a lawyer. They all had lawyers.” FDR and Eisenhower didn’t use their personal lawyers to uncover nonexistent dirt on their political rivals, but, sure, great history lesson.
