well you said steal. you lost the debate right there. i live in a subdivision. every year we sit around the table and calculate how much we need to run the water system and do road maintenance and other expences. then we do an assesment to each property owner.

Government would instantly be cut in half, if people had to check off the amount of their taxes they wanted to give to programs like the department of education, department of energy, or pretty much anything that starts with "department of......" Those programs have all just turned into useless beaurecracies, which are solely designed to give lazy people cush 6 figure jobs, where they can retire at the age of 50.

But, there's a little more to the USA than one subdivision.
What percent of people in the bureaucracies in the USA are honest?
10%...12%...some other number?

maybe you should elect people to make bureaucracies more efficient. after that is done less money will be needed to run the government.

there are lots of places where there is no effective government. places like most of africa most of the middle east ect. in fact the one thing most 3rd world countries have in common is no effective government. do we want to live like that?

What if half of the tenets want to live there for free?
Do you take their share and divide the cost among the remaining 50%?

i guess you are trying to say some people dont pay taxes to the government. everyone pays some tax either through sales or income or gas tax ect.
in addition everyone pays the same income tax at the bracket. the poor person and the rich person pays the same income tax at the 10k tax bracket.
