I sense a pseudo intellectual caught out.. back to the books little league
You win. No money involved just ego. Feel better....

This psycho babble IS important. Most fail at this game due to psychology.

Good luck.

Part of me believes that once I reach that critical mass I will look back and wonder why I did not see the light much faster

I totally agree with this statement. Having traded for a number of years, the day the scales fell of my eyes as it were, I felt the same way and trading has been very easy, enjoyable and extremely profitable since then

I take it I must wait for those scales to fall and that there is no way to rip them of or at least hasten the process?

BTW ... thanks for the comment. It helps to know that it gets easier.

My own experience was that good record keeping and persistance pays off. Learning from your mistakes is very very important. My "Scales off the eyes" moment came when I refined my methodology to such an extent that it became almost effortless to trade. I have to say it was a scary moment because I just could not believe after so many failed attempts that consistent profitable trading was possible. But it truly is.

I am ready for that "scary moment" ... lol. Thanks -- all that you say makes sense to me.

I've heard trading described and characterized in many different ways. I don't recall "very easy" ever being one of them.

I'm curious, do have "full" eidetic memory? Can you memorize complete books word for word?

I'm an INTX and have fairly strong pattern recognition skills and a borderline eidetic memory. I think in pictures and can remember almost everything since I was about 4 too. I can "play" memories like I'm watching a movie and navigate within them as if they were the present. I cannot memorize large portions of text, though. I recall the meaning and can visualize most of the critical sentences, but I cannot replicate a text word for word.

I would go with sporadic eidetic memory. If I see it I remember it. Mainly numbers and patterns though. I can speed read books but do not remember every page word for word but can recall a pretty accurate synopsis.

Believe you can and you're halfway there

The only eidetic and clear memory I have is the amount of money I was worth at my peak equity, and of the extreme daily pain I suffer everyday remembering that I do not have it anymore. Everything else is a blur of unimportant crap lost in a daze of Mojitos. Thank God for that alcohol.
