Great writing. This guy needs more your advice.

just trying to tell him what's ahead. meanwhile-OP can exercise during the trading session hours. i do that all the time.learn programming and try to automate your stuff. you are never going to be bored.if you already done that-work on new systems. there is always something to do(unfortunately-except socializing with people)Great writing. This guy needs more your advice.
Thanks. I'm a woman."but I get so tired after 6 hours of trading."
Right after market close, try to steal a half an hour nap and you will be recharged for the rest of the day to do other things.
Regarding meeting people.........girls? then just one good one matters.
other people? join some sports club or so as player or helping hand in organization etc.
Finally, trading markets is an ongoing learning process. New research and readings should be humming on side all the time.

I trade stocks and yes I scalp. 9:30 AM to 4 PM. It's 6.5 hours. but sometimes I read and watch videos, trading related.6 hours of trading?
Are you scalping the market or something?
And what are you trading exactly (stocks, commodities, Forex)?
I am not a troll, I was trying to find out what other people do.Sheesh, another one-post wonder whining about trading, this time about how boooooring it is. And the guy lives in NYC of all places. Yeah nothing to do in that one-horse town.
Assuming this is a real post and not some new sockpuppet set up to troll us, how about reading a book? Plenty of book stores in NYC or for the cheapskates, plenty of library branches with free book check-outs. Everybody likes some form of fiction. So start reading spy novels, or war novels, or cowboy novels, etc. You'll be dead before you read all the novels available, interspersed with your trading, exercises, meals, shopping, cleaning, etc.
I agree. Good advice. ThanksHaving a lot of free time on your hands is something you need to get used to as a full time trader from home.
I trade from home as well and have no kids or pets. Wife is gone most of the day and is usually home late. So I basically trade until noon NY time only and then head to the gym immediately for an hour at least.
When I get back I'll check the market to see if there's any volatility if there is, I'll try and trade it, if not then I find things to do. On any day, I could write, make a video or go to one of the many parks in NYC and read.
I usually try and do some trading related reading at night before bed so I'm primed for the morning.
Wash, rinse and repeat. This is what you get if you sacrifice office work to work for your own from home.
I believe its very important you have friends and family that you can socialize with once in a while and going to the gym 7 days a week for me is paramount.
Thanks. I'm a woman.
Sometimes I take naps during the day or after and yes it feels good.

please. If you need 1.5 hrs to get to Manhattan, you do not practically "live" in NYC.
